The cement tile appeared in the 1850s and is made in a craft way. This material requires no cooking and air-dries nature. It contains a coat of wear, said coat of finish, made up of marble powder and siliceous sand with some white cement added by colored pigments. Also, a coat called sole, mixing sands and grey cement.
The cement, the main subject used for the manufacturing of a cement tile, appeared at the beginning of the XIXth century. The cement hardens in the contact of the water and is used in the preparation of reinforced concrete or mortar. It consists of limestone and clay.
The tile is obtained after compression, after waste in a mold. The approximate weight in the square meter is 33 Kilograms.
