The contemporary and refined architecture agency from Montpellier Brengues Le Pavec Architects presents the SBL project, a modern renovation of an apartment in the Montpellier crest.
The architecture agency Brengues Le Pavec Architects directs its research towards the heart of the project allowing volumes and their composition to be created.
“The quest for harmony goes through a game of full and empty proportions, transparency, contrast and brightness in order to create a balance on the whole of the building. The agency’s principle is to consider the interior fittings and appropriate furniture down to the smallest detail and likes noble and raw materials, which bring a warm atmosphere to the spaces. The objective is to create a true and lively architecture, and to get rid of the received idea of an atmosphere called “cold” that contemporary architecture can generate. ” – Brengues Le Pavec Architects
All new projects are considered a real human adventure. The exchange is based on the best possible appreciation of the lifestyle or mode of operation that their customers are looking for. Their projects result from a personality that has been drawn, from a soul that has been created through each space. A custom architecture is highlighted by the agency.
The SBL project is a completely renovated apartment in downtown Montpellier. In the past, the distribution was quite different. A corridor running the entire length of the apartment led to rooms that had a unique orientation. In addition, the latter, due to their configuration, were no longer adapted to current lifestyle and trends.
The purpose of the renovation was to install new proportions for a bright and harmonious interior. The apartment now hosts a warm and crossing living space combining living room, living room and kitchen. Thanks to the Parisian loft type glass roof, the Brengues Lepavec Architectes agency was able to respond to the owners’ wish for a kitchen that was not entirely open to the living room. It allows you to isolate the kitchen while maintaining a clear and panoramic view of the living space.
“This aquarium kitchen has become the centerpiece of the apartment. Its volume is underlined by the change in the nature of the floor with its cement tiles, for which their patterns contrast with the sobriety of the whole. The central island is placed here like a jewel in its case “. – Brengues Le Pavec Architects
In order to allow the project to be tailor-made, each room accommodates at least one piece of carpentry. Thought, designed and produced for a specific destination. For example, in the living space, the walls of mat black medium allow to frame the bottom of the room by contracting it with the long and linear white bookcase opposite. At the entrance, the television is integrated into a low storage unit. To meet the expectations and needs of the owners, the bedrooms and offices have seen their storage space, more or less concealed, be designed as closely as possible.
Thanks to the interplay of materials, volumes and shapes, this now bright apartment takes on a lot of style, combining elegance and warmth.
